03-28-2014 > Topic of the Day! Via Rick Gonzalez Do you believe todays methods of developing players are better or worse than back in the 60s, 70s, and/or 80s? What I see today are parents paying for lessons, lessons only, and expecting results. I do not see the way where kids would hang out with each other, playing a few matches and home in on their competitive skills and on occasion, they would take a few lessons to polish their game. Is this carrying over to other sports? Perhaps it is why some of the better athletes are going to team sports, or perhaps we are creating great hitters but poor competitors. I Would like to get the teaching pros views on this.
