(04/03/14) [FOLLOWING THE LEADER’S VOICE] “From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined THE TIMES SET FOR THEM AND THE EXACT PLACES WHERE THEY SHOULD LIVE” (Acts 17:26) NIV Good morning friend, hope you had a restful night? As important as the compass is to a captain, so is the voice of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Hearing from God is vital to enjoying God’s eternal purpose for our lives. As a matter of fact, our ability to hear God’s voice is the stronghold of our faith. God wants to be involved in even the smallest details of our lives and that is why He seeks to lead us by His Spirit in us. If God knows all of our days and where we are going to live before we are even born (as quoted in our focal text), it is therefore important to consciously crave to learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. The voice of the Holy Spirit in our journey of life keeps us on the right track. Let me share with you briefly why we really need to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. HE KNOWS GOD’S PLAN FOR OUR LIVES Human beings are so limited in our mind and thinking that it becomes so difficult to see beyond our noses. As a result of that God’s plans becomes a mystery to us. God has a special plan for you and I, and the Holy Spirit knows what it is and will reveal it to us. The scripture says, ‘God has determined even the exact place we should live.’ If God has determined where we should live, then what about the school you should go, the man or woman you should marry, where you should work and friends you should keep? We need the Holy Spirit to access all that God has for us. The Holy Spirit is needed in our lives. The unfolding of God’s divine plans to us is very pivotal to the fulfillment of our destiny. One of the benefits of hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit is that His voice prepares us for the future by declaring to us things that will happen in the future. Friend, hear God’s instruction to you today, “don’t just talk to God when you need something from Him; it is wisdom that you spend time with Him just listening to the voice of His Spirit.’ He will unfold His plans to you if only you will be still before Him and simply listen.
