05 Burglars arrested in Budgam Srinagar, 09 November: Budgam police has today arrested five burglars who were involved in number of theft cases. During the last few months a large number of complaints recieved in Magam Sub Division of District Budgam about the movement of suspected persons (Thieves) during the night hours.... Cows, Utensils, Cash from Shops & Iron Theft related cases were registered in Police Station Beerwah & Magam..... Nakas established in the area by Budgam Police during night hours to arrest the burglars.... However, on 03-10-2014, Police Station Beerwah received an information that during the intervening night of 02/03-10-2014 some burglars entered into the Cowshed of one Ab Rehman Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Arwah and stolen his Cow. FIR no 107 U/S 457, 380 RPC was registered in Police station Beerwah. Same nature of cases were also registered in police station Magam and investigation was taken up. Shri. Mohd Irshad SSP Budgam constituted a team under the supervision of SDPO Magam Shri. Ch. Iftkhar Ahmed & SI Zahoor Khan SHO Police station Beerwah. The team conducted raids based on specific inputs at different places during which five accused persons, Bilal Ahmed Rather son of Ghulam Mohammasd Rather, Adil Ahmed Yatto son of Mohammad Ramzan residents of Pattan, Younis Ahmed Dar son of Mohammad Sultan Dar, Firdos Ahmed Sofi son of Gulzar Ahmed Sofi and Mohammad Amir Sofi son of Ghulam Mohi-u[din Sofi residents of Arwah, Beerwah were arrested and the stolen Cows along with a load Carrier bearing registration number E6F 10029 that was used by the Accused in the commission of crime have been recovered from their possession. The accused persons were thoroughly interrogated during which they disclosed that few months back they have stolen some Copper Utensils from Hanfia Mosque Arwah, Beerwah. Accordingly the Utensils, Cash Stolen from a shop, LPG Cylinders, matting etc. stolen from another shop during night hours were recovered from the Thieves. More Arrests and more recoveries are also expected in the near future.
