08 Nov 2014 Cover by Suja and Hemanth - Ulavum Thendral Kaatrinile (In the wandering Breeze) [Please use HD option as usual...] Friends, Sudj and I covered this Jikki ji Thiruchi Loganathan sir gem of yesteryear as our humble tribute to Jikki jis 80th birth anniversary that just passed by :-)! We reattempted this today after almost 2.5 years, and I think both of us have surely shown some improvement from our earlier version :-). Hope friends would like our attempt... Playback singer Jikki ji seems to have hailed from my native place of the awesome Tirupati too, and from its neighboring Chandragiri area to be precise. This song might have been picturized at the sepctacular Chandragiri Fort / Lake premises too :-)! If I am not mistaken, our great MGR was introduced in this movie as a side role too. He doesnt appear in this legendary duets video though... This waltz rhythm duet is sung by the scheming anti-hero and his gullible wife, the Ministers Daughter (Manthiri Kumari), which is also the Title of this 1950 movie. This movies Cinematographer (and/or Director) was a guy from Hollywood named Mr. Ellis R. Dungan who had filmed quite a few spectacular Tamil movies during its early era (1940s and 1950s). He had apparently requested this movies spectacular Music Director G. Ramanathan sir to compose this song in a Western Style :-)...
