09 Aug 1965 the year we gain independence ..we faced a future filled with uncertainties and international media was skeptical of prospects for our survival. Besides the issue of sovereignty,our pressing problems were unemployment,housing.education,and the lack of natural resources and land . Our country founding father and his teams of cabinet colleagues began the arduous process of nation building :forging basic infrastructure roads through a land that still consisted primarily is swamps ,creating n army from a hitherto racially and ideologically divided population,providing mass public housing ,establishing a national airline and airport ,invitation for mnc to set up biz here . Going up in the 70s and 80s...life was then very simple for most of us ...during that time where the technology is not so advance ..our childhoods day spending are catching fish in the drain ,playing marble,catch hid and seeks,living in kampong .Going to shopping and eating fast foods during that time is already a luxury for us . During the 90s and late 90s...as the world moves towards a more technology based knowledge , we also move as not to lose out .We also face a few challenges and crises but we pull through as a one nation . Today we have the technology ...FB ,Internet ,advance technology ,good education and good infrastructure which the younger generation have. Every year this day I will always feel proud that I have grow together with our nation by going through the 70s,80s,90s and present days . Thank to our founding father, the old guards , our grandparents and parents working very very hards to build up this nation and the generations of today enjoy . Happy National Day Singapore!!
