(1) - HOW WOULD WE UNDERSTAND MATTHEW 24:36 AND NOT CONTRADICT THE BIBLE? In Matthew 24:36, Jesus says, But of the day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Jesus Christs own words recorded in Matthew 24:36 sounded as if HE is not God. This is a text that skeptics would tell us that JESUS is not GOD. Please listen carefully so that we do not misuse the Scriptures nor take the name of Jesus Christ in vain. (2) - REMEMBER, JESUS WAS THE GOD / MAN FOR 33 YEARS The Bible has been telling us that Jesus is GOD and man at the same time from the time of the incarnation through Mary, for about 33 years - (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:21-23; Philippians 2:5-8). As a man, Jesus was just like us, tempted in all points (Hebrews 4:15); but as the LORD THY GOD, He cannot be tempted - (Matthew 4:7: Luke4:12). As a man, Jesus died at Calvary; but as GOD His divinity did not die because God cannot die. That is the reason Jesus had to become human so that He can die on the Cross, as our sin bearer. (3) JESUS AS GOD, HE KNEW THE DAY AND HOUR Therefore, as a man, Jesus knew not the day and hour of the end. But as God, of course He knew already the day and the hour of His coming back. He was ONE of the three in the Godhead that made the plan of salvation from eternity to save mankind - (Ephesians 1:1-5). Ellen G White says, “The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave themselves to the working out of the plan of redemption.-- “Counsels on Health,” page, 222, {SDA Bible Commentary, Volume 7, page 442.1} HOW can Jesus NOT know of the day and hour of His coming when He Himself gave us all the signs of His return in the Bible???? (Matthew 24). … Of course, as God, Jesus knew the day and hour of His return. Amen? … Please type an “Amen” and share this with your friends. Ellen G. White says, “Christ lived and died as a man, that He might be God both of the living and of the dead.” - (Letter 97, 1898) ….. SDA Bible Commentary, volume 7, pages 926. I hope that we who profess to believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior would believe that He is God also, a separate divine being from the Father and the Holy Spirit. If JESUS is not GOD, then He could not have become our Savior; and He could not have become the resurrection and the life - (John 8:11).
