1- #Womens Rights #Women Empowerment •••• •••• •••• •••• •••• Respected Brother When you go for Eid prayers, dont forget to take your Mother/Sister/Wife/Daughter along with you. ➨ QURAN 2:137 So if they believe in the same as you (Prophet & His Companions) believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and Allah will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing. ➨ 4:115 And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers (Companions of Prophet)- We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination. ➨ 9:100 And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them (Companions of Prophet) with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment. ► Narrated Um `Atiya: We used to be ordered to come out on the Day of `Id and even bring out the virgin girls from their houses and menstruating women so that they might stand behind the men and say Takbir along with them and invoke Allah along with them and hope for the blessings of that day and for purification from sins. (SAHIH BUKHARI Vol #2, Hadith #970) (SAHIH MUSLIM Vol #2, Hadith #2055) (SUNAN ABU DAWUD Vol #1, Hadith #1138) ► Narrated Muhammad: Um Atiyya said: Our Prophet ordered us to come out (on `Id day) with the mature girls and the virgins staying in seclusion. Hafsa narrated the above mentioned Hadith and added, The mature girls or virgins staying in seclusion but the menstruating women had to keep away from the Musalla (praying place). (SAHIH BUKHARI Vol #2, Hadith #974) (SAHIH BUKHARI Vol #2, Hadith #981) (SAHIH MUSLIM Vol #2, Hadith #2054) (SUNAN ABU DAWUD Vol #1, Hadith #1137) (SUNAN NASAI Vol #2, Hadith #1559-1560) ► Umm Atiyyah narrated: Allahs Messenger would order the virgins, the mature women, the secluded and the menstruating to go out for the two Eid. As for the menstruating women, they were to stay away from the Musalla and participate in the Muslims supplications. One of them said: O Messenger of Allah! What if she does not have a Jilbab? He said: Then let her sis lend her a Jilbab (Any Garment that covers entire body – Quran 33:59). (SAHIH MUSLIM Vol #2, Hadith #2056) (SAHIH BUKHARI Vol #1, Hadith #324) (SAHIH BUKHARI Vol #2, Hadith #980) (SUNAN TIRMIDHI Vol #1, Hadith #539-549) (SUNAN ABU DAWUD Vol #1, Hadith #1136) ► Ibn Abbas reported: I bear testimony to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offering prayer before Kbutba. He (after saying prayer) delivered the Kutba, and he found that the women could not hear it, so he came to them and exhorted them and preached them and commanded them to give alms (charity), and Bilal had stretched his cloth and the women were throwing rings, earrings and other things. (SAHIH MUSLIM Vol #2, Hadith #2045-2047) (SAHIH BUKHARI Vol #2, Hadith #961) (SAHIH BUKHARI Vol #2, Hadith #978) 2- Correct Greetings During Eid It is permissible for Muslims to greet each other on the day of Eid with specific greetings that have been reported from the sahaabah (radiyallaahu anhum) and from amongst the Salaf. Ibn Qudaamah mentioned in al-Mughnee (2/259) that Muhammad ibn Ziyad said: I was with Abu Umamah al Bahili (rahimahullaah) and some other companions of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam). When they returned from the Eid, they said to each other: Taqabbalallahuminnaa wa minkum Meaning, May Allaah accept it from you and us. Therefore, instead of the Muslims greeting themselves with phrases like, Happy sallah, Happy Eid etc which has no basis in Islaam, except that it resembles the greetings of the people of the book during their festivals, like Happy christmas, Happy Easter etc., Taqabbalallahuminnaa wa minkum is better, since it has documentation in the shariah. The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Whoever imitates a people is one of them. [Saheeh, narrated by Imaam Ahmad, 2/50-92 3- What is the description of the Eid prayer? Praise be to Allaah. The Eid prayer is one where the imam attends and leads the people in praying two rak’ahs. ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The prayer of al-Fitr is two rak’ahs and the prayer of al-Adha is two rak’ahs, complete and not shortened, on the tongue of your Prophet, and the one who fabricates lies is doomed.” Narrated by al- Nasaa’i, 1420 and Ibn Khuzaymah. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al- Nasaa’i. It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said: The Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to come out on the day of al-Fitr and al-Adha to the prayer place, and the first thing he would do was to offer the prayer. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 956 In the first rak’ah he should say Takbeerat al-ihraam (say “Allaahu akbar” to start the prayer), after which he should say six or seven more takbeers, because of the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), “The takbeer of al-Fitr and al-Adha is seven takbeers in the first rak’ah and five takbeers in the second, apart from the takbeer of rukoo’.” Narrated by Abu Dawood and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 639. Then he should recite al-Faatihah, and recite Soorat Qaf in the first rak’ah. In the second rak’ah he should stand up saying takbeer, and when he has stood up completely he should say takbeer five times, and recite Soorat al-Faatihah then Soorat al-Qamr. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite these two soorahs during the two Eids. Or if he wishes he can recite Soorat al-A’la in the first rak’ah and Soorat al-Ghaashiyah in the second, because it was narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite al-A’la and al-Ghaashiyah in the Eid prayer. The imam should revive the Sunnah be reciting these soorahs so that the Muslims will become familiar with the Sunnah. After the prayer, the imam should address the people. Part of the khutbah should be addressed specifically to the women, telling them of the things that they should do and warning them against the things that they should avoid, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to do. See Fataawa Arkaan al-Islam by Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him), p. 398; Fataawa al- Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 8/300-316). The prayer comes before the khutbah One of the rulings of Eid is that the prayer comes before the khutbah, because of the hadeeth of Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah who said, The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out on the day of al-Fitr and started with the prayer before the khutbah. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 958; Muslim, 885. Another indication that the khutbah comes after the prayer is the hadeeth of Abu Sa’eed (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to come out to the prayer place on the day of al-Fitr and al-Adha, and the first thing he would start with was the prayer, then he would go and stand facing the people, while the people were sitting in their rows, and he would preach to them and advise them and command them. If he wanted to send out a military expedition he would do so and if he wanted to tell the people to do something he would do so, then he would leave. Abu Sa’eed said: The people continued to do that until I went out with Marwaan – who was the governor of Madeenah – on Eid al- Adha or Eid al-Fitr, and when we came to the prayer-place, there was a minbar that had been built by Katheer ibn al-Salt. When Marwaan wanted to ascend it before he prayed, I grabbed his garment and he pushed me away and climbed up and delivered the khutbah before the prayer. I said, “You have changed it by Allaah.” He said, “O Abu Sa’eed, what you knew has gone.” I said, “What I know, by Allaah, is better than what I do not know.” He said, “The people will not sit and listen to us after the prayer, so we did it before the prayer.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 956. 4- The Consequences Of Bidiah&Extremism In The Religion The Consequences Of Bidiah & Extremism In The ReligionTaken from “Silsilah Ahadeeth As-Saheehaha”By the Muhaddith, Shaykh, AllamaaMuhammad Nasir uddeen al-Albaani “Indeed there people who read the Qur’aan, but it does not go pass their throats, they leave Islaam just like the arrow leaves the prey.” [Collected by ad-Darmi]From ‘Amroo bin Salamah: We were sitting by the door of Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood before lunch, so that if he came out, we could walk with him to the Masjid.Abu Moosaa al-Ash’aree came and said: Has Abu Abdur-Rahmaan come out yet?We said: No.So, he sat down with us, waiting for him to come out, and when he came out, we all gathered towards him, and Abu Moosaa said:“O Abu Abdur-Rahmaan! Previously I saw something in the Masjid which I disliked. But, Alhamdulillaah, what I saw, was nothing but good.”He said: What was it?Abu Moosaa said, “If you live, you will see it.”Then Abu Moosaa said, “I saw a group of people, sitting in circles waiting for the prayer. In every circle there was a man and in their hands were small stones and he would say: “Say Allaahu Akbar 100 times” and they would say “Allaahu Akbar” 100 times. Then, he would say, “Say laa ilaha ilAllaah 100 times” and they would say “laa ilaha ilAllaah” 100 times and he would say, “Say SubhaanAllaah” 100 times and they would say “SubhaanAllaah” 100 times.”Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood said, “So what did you say to them?”He said: “I did not say anything to them, rather I waited for your opinion [or I waited for your command].”He said: “Why did you not command them to count their bad deeds [i.e. seek forgiveness from your deeds] and guarantee them that their good deeds would not be lost?!”Then he walked and we walked with him until he reached one of those circles and he stood there and said, “What is this that I see you doing?”They said: “O Abu Abdur-Rahmaan! These are nothing but small stones with which we are counting, saying “Allaahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illAllaah and SubhaanAllaah.”He said, “Count your sins; I guarantee that you will not lose anything of your good deeds! Beware, O Ummah of Muhammad! How quick you are to your destruction! Here we are, the Companions of your Prophet abundant, everywhere and here is his clothing which has not been [wasted away] and his utensils have not been broken. I swear by Him in Whose Hand is my soul, either you are an Ummah more rightly-guided than the Ummah of Muhammad or you are opening the door of misguidance.”They said; “We swear by Allaah, O Abu Abdur-Rahmaan,we did not intend anything but good.”He said: “How many people intend good but never achieve it. Verily the Messenger of Allaah narrated to us, “Indeed there will be a people who read the Qur’aan but it does not pass beyond their throats.” I swear by Allaah, I do not know. Perhaps most of them are from amongst you.”Then he went away.‘Amroo bin Salamah said, “We saw some of those sitting in those circles fighting on the Day of Nahrawaan, along with the Khawaarij.” [1]Shaykh al-Albaani mentions in the Takreej (research) of the above narration:“Indeed there is a lesson to be learnt from this narration, for those who follow Sufi paths and Dhikr gatherings which are against the Sunnah. When someone forbids an evil action that they perform they accuse him of forbidding Dhikr from its very foundation! This is Kufr which no Muslim in this world should fall into; the evil action which they adhere to, from those forms of Dhikr and gatherings which, were not legislated at the time of the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam, otherwise why would Ibn Masood radi Allaahu anhu disapprove of those who were sitting in their gatherings? Is it not, a gathering done on a specific day, and doing an amount of Dhikr which is not indicated by the Sharia’ but is listed by the Shaykh of the gathering, and he commands them with the amount of Dhikr that they should do from himself, as if he is a legislator on behalf of Allaah Ta’ala![2]To add to this, the Sunnah which is established by the Messenger, sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam, verbally and practically is to perform the Tasbeeh (remembrance of Allaah) on your fingertips, as it is clear in “The refutation against al-Habshee” and in other places. From the benefits which can be reaped from the hadeeth and this story is; that the importance is not of performing a large amount of worship, but rather, is it according to the Sunnah and far away from Bidda’.Ibn Masood, radi Allaahu anhu, also indicated to this point in his saying: “sticking to the Sunnah is better than striving in Bidda’.”And another benefit is: that a small Bidda’ leads to a greater Bidda’. Do you not see that those people from these gatherings afterwards became from the Khawaarij who were killed by the rightly guided Khalifah ‘Alee bin Abu Taalib? So is there anyone who will take heed?!”[Taken from Silsilah Ahadeeth as-Saheehah by Shaykh al-Albaani (vol 5/2005)]FOOTNOTES:[1]Narrated by ad-Darmi in his Sunan.[2]Soorah Shura :21 5- The Evil Dangers Of Bid’ah Bid’ah (innovation) indicates evil dangers:Firstly: It indicates a belying of the saying of Allaah, Exalted is He:“This day I have perfected your religion for you.” (Al-Maa’idah 5:3)Because when somebody comes with an innovation & considers it as a form of religion; its implication is that the religion is not perfect. Secondly: It indicates a defamation of the Sharee’ah, & that it is imperfect, so this innovator is the one who makes it perfect with his act of innovation. Thirdly: It indicates a defamation of the Muslims, who do not practice this innovation; so, those people who lived before this innovation; their religion is incomplete – this is a grave danger! Fourthly: Among the implications of this innovation is that what prevails is that whoever is occupied with an innovation, he would be distracted from a Sunnaah, as some of the Salaf said:“People will not innovate an innovation, except that they will demolish its like from the Sunnaah e.g some people has used salatu ibraheemiya that was in shariah law of ALLAH but represent it with salatul fatih bidiah one that was not even mentione for once in Quran or hadith.” Fifthly: These innovations lead to separations in the Ummaah, because these innovators believe that they are the upholders of the truth, and that the others are misguided! And people of the truth say: “You are the ones upon misguidance.” So, their hearts separate. All of these grave evils result from an innovation because it is an innovation, in addition to the fact that this innovation is accompanied by foolishness in one’s reason, and an imbalance in religion.Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘UthaymeenSharh al-‘Aqeedah al-Wasitiyyah, pp. 450-451 6- The Foundation Of Marriage Is Polygyny (Having More Than One Wife)Taken From the Fatawaa of our Shaykh, ‘Allaama Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia‘Abdul ‘Azeez bin ‘Abdullaah Bin Baaz Question: is the foundation of marriage polygyny or is it having one wife? Answer: The foundation in the Sharia is polygyny for he who has the capability to do so, and will not oppress them. This is due to the many benefits of polygyny, protecting ones private parts, protection for the one who marries women and is good to them. The increase of offspring by which the Ummah is increased thereby an increase of those who worship Allaah alone. The evidence which shows this is the saying of Allaah Ta ala:“Then marry (other) women of your choice, two or three, or four but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one or (the captives and the slaves) that your right hands possess. That is nearer to prevent you from doing injustice.” [Soorah an-Nisa:3]Also, because the Messenger-sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam –married more than one wife and Allaah Subhanahu said:“Verily in the Messenger of Allaah you have a beautiful example.” [Soorah Ahzab:21] The Messenger- sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam –mentioned when some of the companions said: As For me then I will not eat meat, another one said: As for me then I will pray and I will not sleep. Another one said as for me then I will fast and not open my fast. Another one said: as for me then I will not marry women. So when this news reached the Prophet- sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam –he addressed the people and praised and glorified Allaah then he said: “Indeed such and such news has reached me. However I fast and open my fast, pray and sleep. I eat meat and marry women. So whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me.“This is a great statement from the Prophet- sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam –which includes having one wife and polygyny.Allaah is The One who gives the capability.[al-Balaag magazine no.1015, 19 Rabi al-Awal 1410 A.H.]
