1/23 morning update: Well the surgical part is complete and was considered successful now the clinical part begins. Post-operative care is going to be tough. Ella has already been nauseous and sick this morning but this is typical for her after anesthesia and morphine. So, hopefully this will pass very soon. Her surgical site looks very good and is completely hidden in her hairline. She has a very sore throat which is also to be expected after having a breathing tube inserted and removed twice in 3 days. This to should pass once we are able to drink some later today. Her right eye is completely swollen shut and is also to be expected as the surgery was on the right front part of the brain. The swelling will probably get worse before better but we are prepared. We as parents are overwhelmed by the support that has been poured over us during all this and just ask for continued prayers over Ella through the next few days of recovery. She is a tough little girl who has been through a lot in a short period of time, so we have to stand strong behind her to push her to recovery.
