Not the best rendition of it (especially when the percussion comes in), but its the memory that counts at this point. The anticipation, and the ticking of the clock, like New Year but x100! The crazy, crazy rain! (did the heavens cry for HK like the BBC suggested, or did they come to wash away the last vestiges of colonialism, as per Chinas suggestion? Or was it just a lot of rain, as the local HK news reported? Some people may answer this differently than they did back then) The oh, is that it? the next morning. No one knew what to expect, and we certainly didnt realise itd come to a head like this 17 years later. Always thinking of you, Hong Kong, and rest assured, Ill be living amongst you again, sooner or later!
