1 John 1:5-7 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. The question today is, Do you walk in the darkness or the light? As we live each day, the pursuit is to live in the light of Christ. This means that we are willing to bring whatever darkness is in us into the light of God. Walking in the darkness is attempting to hide darkness in our hearts from God, or from other believers. We do not experience true fellowship with others as long as we allow ourselves to be held captive by the darkness. Living in the light is the courage to lay our hearts and lives bare before God, allowing the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from that sin.
