1 John 5:12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. What does having the Son mean? This: Living the way He taught; having His attitudes; caring for those who belong to Him, on a daily basis; being concerned for the lost firstly & then the fallen. None of the New Testament letters were written to the fallen, they were instructions for believers so that others would observe their way of living & want what they had. Not too many people want the watered-down Christianity of today. We are losing many that have had the inheritance but are choosing to squander it in the pig pen of the world. The story of the prodigal son underlines the separateness of the two lifestyles. The lifestyles do not belong & we should stop being emotional about it, instead we should be living in spiritual joy (Nehemiah 8:10) which comes from having the guts & strength to stand despite opposition. Persecution is a given, are you willing (I ask myself too)? Everything of Jesus is argued & belittled in politics, social justice, human rights, even our sacred holidays. Come on people, if we dont maintain our own families in Christ-like accountability, what hope is there for the fallen? Lets make this month of preparation & celebration sacred by maintaining Christmas as it was of old - carols, simple gift giving, special food & most of all, family love.
