1 John Chapter 3: 23-24 Now this is His command: that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commands remains in Him, and He in him. And the way we know that He remains in us is from the Spirit He has given us. --- We can love in our own strength, but to love others with Jesus in our heart can mean so much more. John says that this is Gods command that we believe or serve the Lord Jesus and by us doing that is to “love one another”. If we continue and abide in Christ then we know He remains in us. We can know He is in us by the “Holy Spirit” that abides in us. Gods love is Merciful, compassionate, forgiving, long suffering towards us, etc. All of these God attributes or gifts are in us, but need to be practiced so each will grow. If they are practiced or we practice them than we are doing what He said to do and by this the Holy Spirit will rise up in us and we will know God abides in us. Did I mention “practice”? Serving God is an daily practice of developing relationship so we can be more like Him. Serving Him with relationship is not by sinning purposely, but by wanting to become more like Him. If we can tell that this fruit of love in us is growing than continue to examine ourselves in truth and we wont fall.
