1 Peter 2:9=But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Just think about how marvelous this is for us now. Before Jesus, we had to go to the priesthood for access to God. Now we can all, each and everyone of us go to God by our self. We have the honor of boldly going into the throne room of God and we have Jesus as our lawyer to stand beside us as we petition God for answer to our prayers. We no longer live in a dark place of not knowing the heart of the priest when he was going to God on our behalf. The priest was a man, as we are, and was always subject to sin and in need of forgiveness as we all do. But Jesus our new Priest has no sin and can stand before God on our behalf freely and God is willing to listen to Him. As we pray, we have a strong lawyer in agreement with us and The Word of God that promises us that if we ask we receive. The only way to not get the answer to prayer is to pray amiss. No faith, no trust in God, greed and unforgivness are some of the reasons why prayers are not answered. We have a very special place in our relationship with God, and we should always honor God by showing the world your light of praise to Him. Do we honor God? The next verses tell us to abstain from fleshly lusts and obey the laws, and have an honest conversation so that all men can see your good works and will glorify God that shines from you. Your relationship with God cannot be hidden, it will show forth or be seen and man will know whom you love the most. You are your own witness of self and your morals.
