1 Peter 3:10-12 For the one who wants to love life and see good - TopicsExpress

1 Peter 3:10-12 For the one who wants to love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from uttering deceit. And he must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. But the Lord’s face is against those who do evil. This is not a call to perfection, and it doesn’t mean that we must never make mistakes, or that we will never find ourselves being tempted or enticed by our own sinful desires. It is, however, a call to live in the righteousness we have been saved into through Jesus Christ. Righteousness is available to us through Jesus alone, and by the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to “seek peace and pursue it”. As you live each day, remember grace and forgiveness. Mistakes will be made, and you will always be learning about the depths of your own heart. If you find evil in your heart, take it to God, be honest with Him, and ask Him to change your heart. Our walk with God in this world is about following Jesus and trusting Him with everything. To turn away from evil, we must surrender all to God.
