(1 Peter 5:6-7) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty - TopicsExpress

(1 Peter 5:6-7) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Prayer is something often spoken about in church and yet for many of us, it is seldom practiced on a regular basis. Some of this may be due to the misunderstanding of what prayer is and what it is not. When we come to the Lord in prayer, He desires that we come as the broken people we are. He desires that we bring our cares, our worries, our pains and suffering to Him because He loves us. We dont need to pretend with God. We dont need to act like things are better than they are. We dont need to act as if were stronger than we are. He KNOWS our hearts and He understands our weaknesses. When we come to Him in HONEST conversation, we can find great peace and joy in that time of fellowship. Pour your heart out to Him!....do it now! Theres no such thing as a bad time to pray!! Brothers and sisters, the weight of our lives can become enormous. Its sometimes crushing weight can become far too heavy for even the strongest of us to bear. God knows that! And He never intended for you to carry that weight alone! Instead, He says to bring it to Him so that HE can carry it for us! When we come to God in prayer, we can come in joyful surrender....and we can find great peace in knowing and truly believing that He loves us and that He has our life firmly, gently, and completely in His hands!
