1 Peter 5:8 – “Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” Every where we go in life, every turn we take, around every corner, the Devil is lurking in the darkness, waiting….waiting….waiting to jump out and over take us. Satan uses temptation to lure us away from our loving God and tries to take us down into the depths of despair. Our sinful nature will be used as a weapon against us, dragging us deeper and deeper into darkness and farther and farther away from the light of our God. We just CANNOT allow this to happen. We must remember that God has forgiven us of all our sins, no matter what they may be. He loves us and cares for each and every one of us. All He wants is for us to stay strong in our faith and to resist Satan’s temptations. Living our lives, pushing aside temptation, loving others, keeping God in our thoughts and deeds at all times, all these things will ensure us our rightful place in heaven alongside our Lord, who wants nothing more than for us to be with him when it is the right time for each of us. Reading our Bible, attending worship services, spending a few minutes a day with God in prayer, reading daily devotions, the list can go on and on with all the good Christian things we can do to stay strong in our faith. It is NOT too late to embark on this wonderful journey with Christ, let’s start NOW!! Thank you, Lord, for giving me the strength to resist Satan’s temptations. You are my light and in you I can accomplish everything I set my mind to. I’m ready, Lord, to take this journey with you and to earn my place in heaven. Amen.
