1 Timothy 6:11-14 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: As we look at this passage of scripture tonight, Paul tells us to turn away from the things which are wrong and to follow after righteousness. He then tells us to fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life. As I was thinking and praying about tonights message I heard a quote on a movie that I was watching. The character said, What I must do is all that concerns me, not what other people think. As I listened to that and began to think about it, it hit me like a ton of bricks so to speak. Just smacked me right between the eyes. So often we concern ourselves with popularity, we concern ourselves with the opinions of others and seek acceptance and mans approval. When what we should be concerned with is the approval of God Himself, not the approval or opinions of others. We should be standing for what is righteous, just because its the popular thing to do, but rather because its the right thing to do. Dear friends it is very easy for us to compromise in the face of public pressure. It is easy for us to fall into the snare of popularity, rather than to take an unpopular stand for the truth and for righteousness. Yes we can even justify our silence in the name of peace, but ask yourself this. If we the christians do not take a stand for righteousness and truth, who will? We need to remember that We are the servants of the Most High God!!!!!!! Paul said in Galatians 1:10, For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. So who are we seeking to please? Paul also said in Philippians 2:5, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Did Jesus ever compromise the truth to please the crowds or even the rulers for that matter? NO!!!!!!!! Paul says in Philippians 1:21-24 that, For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you: Paul says in 1Corinthians 2:1-2, And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Dear friends, one day we will stand before THE Almighty God and give an account for every idle word that we speak. I have plenty to answer for already and I have no need or intentions of adding to my account of things to answer for!!!!!!!! I want to stand for Him, I want to stand for His Truth, for His righteousness, for what is right in His sight, not whats right in the sight of men. I beg of the Lord to please give me the boldness to stand for Him and what is right. This my hearts desire, simply to be His servant, to be used mightily of Him and to do His will!!!!!!!!!!! What is your desire? What are you standing for? Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
