10:00 AM WEATHER UPDATE: Two main areas of rain this hour. One in the southeast (south of I-20 and east of I-65), where it has been raining in some spots for the last 24 hours. The other section is in the northwest (north of I-20/59 and west of I-65). In fact I-65 from Birmingham to Montgomery will only see a brief light shower for the next hour. We are beginning to see a push north and west of the moisture from the south, so we should begin to see an increase in overall coverage as we approach the Noon hour. Best chance for scattered thunderstorms this afternoon will be in the southwest (south of I-20/59 and west of I-65), where there was some clearing this morning and temperatures here may be 4 to 6 degrees warmer than other locations. Otherwise widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible across Central Alabama.
