10.1.2014 Update on Father Dan The appointment with my surgeon went well. All of the Sarcoma tumors were malignant. They were not a new lung cancer. Four tumors and multiple spots/nodules were removed. Two were in the lung and two tumors, along with the nodules, were in the pleura (the lining of the lung). The two tumors in the lung had good margins, meaning that the cancer was completely removed. That was not the case for those tumors removed in the pleura. For that reason the surgeon has referred me to a medical Sarcoma oncologist who will decide the next step. The tumors in the lung were much more aggressive than the existing tumors than are slow growing tumors in my abdomen. Unfortunately I dont have much to share with you after my visit today. The surgeon is very pleased with the progress of my healing. There will be more information once I see the medical Sarcoma oncologist later this month.
