[10:23am, 11/21/2014] limelight: Today topic is Tahara ( cleanliness or purification Allah commands Muslims to purify themselves, it is ritual purity from every minor and major impurity and defilements. Islam require every muslim to make physical and spiritual cleanliness. the physical side contain, cleaning of our bodies, clothes, houses, environment and community while the spiritual contain cleanliness of soul and heart. Allah reward those who purify their soul and body. Purification may be defines as an acts of cleaning our body and soul. Purity holds an important place in Islam. Being clean is to fulfill half the demands of faith. The remaining half covers all other aspects of Faith. Prophet Muhammad,upon him be God’s blessings and peace, advised Muslims to appear neat and tidy in private and in public. A major ritual impurity occurs in the following four states: 1. Husband and wife conjugal relationship 2. Hayd – Menstruation 3. Bleeding after childbirth 4. All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves. [Sahih Muslim - Ch 002: The Book of Purification (Kitab Al-Taharah)].
