10:30PM WEDNESDAY UPDATE: The newest forecast models are coming - TopicsExpress

10:30PM WEDNESDAY UPDATE: The newest forecast models are coming in this evening. Most still suggest mainly a cold rain for DFW tomorrow morning. The NAM model (see post below on my page) has come in slightly warmer with this run. That decreases the chances of a big snow even more. I do think that as we move into the mid morning hours, I would expect to see some snow flakes mixed in with the rain on the western edges of the Metroplex (near Denton and near Fort Worth). As we move into the afternoon, the rest of the metroplex including Dallas could see snowflakes at times. BUT, temperatures will stay above freezing at the ground. So roads would be just wet, not icy. There may be a light dusting or coating on grassy areas where we see burst of snow during the day on Thursday. This is more likely the farther west and north you go from DFW. And some areas out to the northwest may see a nice coating on surfaces such as cars, grass, and roofs during the day Thursday. Be sure to wake up with Meteorologist Scott Padgett from 4:30am to 7:00am for the latest on the weather as you walk out the door. ~Larry Mowry
