10/4/2012 3:40am 10 days before I got sober, I left the restaurant and walked back to the house. I walked in the street because Im afraid of animals like skunks and raccoons-I noticed a skunk walking in the direction of a cat while it was watching me. I had to double check to see if the skunk was a cat. My eyes are awful-it was a skunk and I wasnt worried about it having rabies because someone told me that most of the animals with rabies live on the east coast. I thought about rabies as I watched the skunk hop in the direction of the cat while the cat ran away. The skunk wasnt chasing the cat. The skunk just wanted to hang out under a nearby parked car. I pulled the clear nicotine patch off my arm and tossed it in the street. I felt bad about tossing the patch in the street and thought about all the people I know who know that I am trying to quit smoking. I wanted a cigarette. I lifted all the couch cushions up on the porch where over 20 people and I live. I found something to smoke and put a pint of whiskey a customer gave me into the refrigerator. He also gave me a Miller High Life. I cracked that and took it in the bathroom. On my way to the bathroom, I noticed someone sleeping on the couch. I dont remember what her name was but she said she had just come back from San Francisco and I told her that I was leaving for the metro to take the bus to San Francisco in an hour. I walked into the bathroom with my Miller High Life and looked at the giant spider in the window. I opened the window. The spider is beginning to look furry now. He has been there since August. The spider loves it when I feed him dead flies. I brought my Miller High Life into the shower and chugged it. There are few things in life that are more gratifying than chugging High Life in a shower.
