Source: Metro [10:46, 29/09/2014] Quabhena Emmamens: WEST HAM striker Diafra Sakho could face FA action after claims he head-butted Manchester United defender Luke Shaw. By Ian Whittell / Published 29th September 2014 Facebook Twitter Google The flashpoint during Uniteds 2-1 win over the Hammers left the England full-back with a black left eye that was evident as he left the ground. Shaw refused to comment on the allegations but sources in the United camp claim it was the result of a head-butt from the Senegal forward. It is believed Shaw reported the incident to an assistant referee, but he and referee Lee Mason, took no action. Video footage of the incident could yet see the FA take retrospective action however for an alleged foul that would have brought an automatic red card for violent conduct if it had been seen at the time. Sakho scored the West Ham goal and was also booked, for a bad, late challenge on Uniteds Rafael. United skipper Wayne Rooney was not so fortunate and saw red for a late professional foul on Stewart Downing. And Shaw believed his skipper was unlucky tsaying: We have actually had a lot of bad luck, especially with Wazzas red card as I would say there was a handball before that but the referee didnt stop play. Earlier in the game, Sakho did the same to me. But I just focus on winning games and Ill keep doing that. Shaw finally made his Reds debut after injury delayed his introduction by Louis van Gaal and earned him criticism from the United boss for his lack of fitness. Shaw said: Of course, he was right to say that. We had a discussion in pre-season and the plan for me was to get my fitness up. It worked, I think, apart from the injury. It was a bit of setback but Ive worked hard in the last weeks and had some talks. Hes been a great inspiration to me and hopefully I can carry that on.
