10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise RECKON ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Romans 6:10-12 That word RECKON?? by reckoning up all the reasons, to gather or infer to consider, take into account, weigh, meditate on to suppose, deem, judge to determine, purpose, decide That word INDEED?? truly, certainly, surely, indeed The ability to sin is in our flesh. Our flesh is corrupt and we wait upon the Lord for when He returns He will give us a new body. Verse 12 says dont let it reign (rule) over us. I really think to determine, purpose and decide are best to fit in this RECKON. Before temptation comes, let us truly determine that our flesh is dead and cannot sin. Let us truly purpose that our flesh is dead and cannot sin. Let us truly decide that our flesh is dead and cannot sin. AND let us determine, with, purpose, and decide that we are truly ALIVE unto God through Jesus Christ! :) Only God in us can give us the ability to not sin. It is only in His power! We arein Christ and that power is available. Let us leave Romans Chp. 6 and live in Romans Chp 8 1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4
