10 November 2013, gansevoort, new york, 8:39am......while watching the PPV boxing event, I overheard my young (6 yrs old) niece tell her mother....mommy, pay manong and jake, a dollar each to play with me......bribery is learned early too. i was the only one who rooted for DONAIRE, the Filipino boxer who was losing in all of eight rounds....he gave the coup d grace on the ninth round however, he delivered a knock-out......when he was announced victorious, he lifted his baby son....his rift with his father, became, public fodder. but, I was wrong in the main event.....the PUERTO RICAN lost to a younger GARCIA....a Mexican by ethnic roots, but, a Californian by choice....the PUERTO RICAN was taller, more wiry and more experienced......but, the young GARCIA hit him where the liver WAS......A BODY SHOT.....he just crumpled down, pain very visible on his face.......two Saturdays from now, PACQUIAO of the PHILIPPINES, WILL FACE RIOS, another Mexican........
