10 tornadoes so far. The National Weather Service has officially stated that 10 tornadoes touched down in Indiana yesterday with the report to come in for western Indiana tomorrow. Since I had a friend that personally saw a touchdown in that area, the number should rise. Whatever the number ends up at, Indiana is awfully lucky that despite some heavily damaged cities, including the medium-sized cities of Lafayette and Kokomo, there were no serious injuries. Illinois took the brunt of the larger EF4 tornadoes with several fatalities. Indianas topped at EF0-EF2 so that likely is why the injuries were minimal, although if you looked at some the damage, its a minor miracle there werent more. Thoughts and prayers to those in IL, especially the city of Washington that was virtually leveled.
