10 years ago today I lost my first love. The one who taught me the meaning of unconditional love, who taught me to fix a car, be a parent, and swear like a sailor. He gave me my first taste of beer and the freedom to become who I am. I hear him everyday and a day doesnt go by that I dont wonder what he would think of something I have done, or the kind of man my son grew into. I know he would be proud of the life I have built, the Marine I raised and the man I married. I miss you Daddy, but I know that you are still alive in the hearts of those of us who loved you.
