10 years ago yesterday I very excitedly and nervously opened the doors to Kid Connection Child Development Center at 7am. I have been so blessed with great families and wonderful staff throughout the past 10 years. Weve certainly came a long way since that day in 2004. I opened the doors that morning with 4 children on my attendance and at the time was licensed for 17 children. Within 3 weeks we had filled to licensed capacity and week 4 we had a waiting list and by week 12 had increased my license capacity. By month 6 we had double the original capacity and was working on additional space for children in a vacant building across the street from the original location on Main Street in Clyde. Within 2 years still having a consistent waiting list I took a leap and decided to relocate the center to Canton ( our current location) and shortly after we had filled all original 62 spaces that we had in the center. And we had earned a 5 star license the highest that can be earned in the state of NC!!! Just about 3 short years later and with having a waiting list for parents needing care we opened the addition that had been built on at our current location. Here we are 10 years from our opening date licensed for 95 children, with 90 enrolled, holding a 5 star license, & employing 12 full time staff and 3 part time staff and are filling very blessed that god has given us such a great opportunity. An amazing and rewarding opportunity to love and see the children in our care learn and grow & those whove been in our care learn and grow into independent elementary and middle school children. I want to say Thank you to all parents who have entrusted in us and allowed us to be part of your families lives and A huge Thank you to all of the wonderful teachers at Kid Connection CDC who love and care for the children on a daily basis, we couldnt have done it without you!!!
