100 Makers / 100 Days Zach Blas devised the Facial Weaponization Suite in response to the development of biometric facial recognition software, which can scan crowds of protestors and identify those in attendance. With Blas’ masks, activists become unrecognizable to the authorities. The three masks displayed here at MAD were made with the contribution of groups ranging in focus from queer activism to civil rights and immigration reform.
