He also disclosed that the training would continue for another two months targeting another batch of 200 police officers and informed that IBIT is a charity organization based in America with the aim of making computer literacy accessible in the country. Explaining why IBIT decided to train the police, Mr. Sillah said that the world is now digital with enormous cybercrimes which the police is not fully capacitated to handle and underscored that the need for the training cannot be overemphasized with modern computer software like Windows and Microsoft Word for better performance and service delivery. He added that presently, IBIT has the largest computer school in Makeni and disclosed that plans are underway to extend the opportunity to personnel of the Sierra Leone Correctional Services and the Sierra Leone Armed Force free of cost but to the public at reasonable cost while children of police officers would be offered 50% discount. Distributing certificates to graduates, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Aiah Komba, said that the training is timely as it is lacking in the Police Force and commended IBIT for the opportunity. Beneficiaries of the training commended IBIT for capacitating them with modern technology that would facilitate their work, especially typing, formatting and printing documents easily.
