100 polyethylene tanks to store drinking water were installed by UNICEF to serve as distribution points for 71,000 people living in #Gaza’s Middle Area. The beneficiaries are displaced families living in informal shelters. They used to live in eastern Gaza, near the Barrier with Israel, but their houses were partly or completely destroyed during the war. Unemployed farmers and fishers are also part of the beneficiaries. Due to the #blockade, they are barred access to one third of arable land and most fishing grounds, leading to unemployment and poverty.
