#100projects100days As part to achieve #100 projects in 100 days pledge, so far my Government is launching the following projects. Water In Manyatta sub-county, KES 20.3M has been set aside for irrigation and domestic water projects. Those irrigation schemes include Itabua/ Muthatari, Runga scheme and Gichangai/Kiangucu while those of domestic include Jica project extension of Kithimu pipeline, Muvandori/Mukonoku and construction of 6 BPTs at Kithimu. KES 24.9M has been allocated in Runyenjes sub-county for water projects which include Ena Jica project,Kawanjara/Gikuuri/Karurumo project,Karimari/Kevote/Mbuvore/Rutune project, Kigaa/Nthagaiya domestic water project and Kanthitu Irrigation scheme. In Mbeere South sub-county domestic water projects include Rwika/Gachoka Jica project,Gachoka/Gachuriri project and Kanothi Junction water project. These projects will amount to KES 35.4M. In Mbeere North Sub-County, KES 11M has been set aside for domestic water projects which include Siakago/Kune/Soko project, Kabaachi/Mururiri Jica project, Ndaiyo/Kambaru /Embe water and Mbingori/Kandungo/Kavavi project. In addition, Embu county government has slanged earth dams in order to reduce cases of domestic water vandalism through breakage of pipes and illegal connections in order to access water. These earth dams include Ndutori earth dam, Gatinangugu earth dam, Karimari and Ivondo earth dam at a cost of KES 3.4M all in Mbeere South sub-county. In order to supplement domestic water in the Sub County, the Government embarked on renovating boreholes as follows: Kiambeere Health center borehole, Ndithiri and Muminji bore holes. All these borehole projects amount to KES 840,000. Transport To ease transportation, the County Government targets to tarmac Kangaru-Kibugu-Kianjokoma-Runyenjes-Ugweri-Siakago-Kiritiri-Macang’a-Makima-Makutano road. On footbridges, the Government has already built Gatongu footbridge and planning to build Mucue/Kabugua ka Nyama footbridge soon in Mbeere North sub county. In Manyatta sub county, Ngai-Ndethia and Kairuri footbridges construction are set to commence soon. Energy In order to boost energy in the county, the County Government targets to set up a 9.40 megawatts Solar energy park at Machanga, Mbeere South sub county. On the other hand, the Government has equipped Runyenjes town with Street lights and flood light which are at this moment operating. Factories and Markets In order to increase farm productivity, the county government will build a Mango processing factory in Karurumo in Runyenjes sub-county and modern markets in Kibugua, Kangaru and Kithimu in Manyatta sub-county and Karurumo in Runyenjes sub-county which are under construction. Health and Education In health sector, the County Government has commissioned the construction of Embu level 5’s four theatre suites, a high dependency unit, an Intensive Care Unit as well as their associated facilities. KES 204M has been allocated for the construction of the complex. In education, the Government is planning to upgrade Karurumo Polytechnic in Runyenjes sub-county. Some of these projects are commencing, others in progress while others are functioning.
