101Gin1001D Moosewood Recipes: all! RECIPE ATTACK this weekend on Nick Gully, Naomi Perera and Cat Bell along with some Orphan Black Started off with Chilled Moroccan Tomato Soup (2/92) which was a not bad quick and easy cinnamon + gazpacho-like soup, which was nice for a summer day. We then moved onto the main course which was a choice between 3 different fish in packet choices: Asian, French and Caribbean (5/92) all of which were made with halibut. These were given positive reviews all around with the Asian and French coming out slightly ahead as the Caribbean overriding taste was the sweetness of the bell peppers. As sides we had fennel and orange salad (6/92) which was a meh as there was no blending of flavors just fennel and orange...in a salad tasting like chunks of orange and fennel depending on your in particular bite. Second side was golden spanish rice (7/92) quite a hit with all as we went quite heavy on the olives, though next time I would hold off on using the annatto seeds infused oil as...well I was using red rice and forbidden rice, so no way was the yellow color gonna show up anyway. For dessert we had baked white peaches with marsala (8/92) which absolutely needed the very ripe peaches that the recipe called for (we had not quite ripe white peaches), though even so I prefer the similar peach parfait with amaretto cream R and I made last week. Lastly, but firstly made, Ryan and I indulged in the carb-centric Italian Style Tofu Pizza (9/92) for lunch which was quite good and gave that pizza taste we were looking for. Not sure what the 2-3 servings means here as we only finished half of ours: lunch ho!
