#1031 I would like to share one of my recent travel experience.I am a 27 yr old very normal looking guy working at CTS MEPZ. My native is Manachanallur near trichy and I travel very frequently over the weekend just to get the feel of home and being close to nature because my place is known for its green paddy fields. I travel by Parveen travels since its more feasible for me as I can get down close to my village on the way. In parveen travels they have a system that a male cannot book a seat next to a female passenger, but a female can book a seat next to a male passenger if she chose to(So much for gender quality). As I boarded the bus and was waiting for it to move, I saw a good looking girl coming over by my seat and kept her luggage. She then went to the driver and his assistant and she said she wanted to sit with a female with a disgusting look. As per the parveen travels rules she chose to book next to male and since I was the first person to book my seat before her, I could have blindly denied her request. But I thought that would be inhumane and also considering the disgusting look, I clearly understood she was uncomfortable in sitting next to me and I chose to swap my seat to the last row available. The seat was empty next to her. And then came a husband, wife and a small kid and they had different seats. And the husband requested this girl if she can swap her seat with his. When she checked for his seat, there was this guy with all the weird hairdo, flashy tattoo and a big ass headphones and she smiled and said ok and she moved next to him. As the bus started, The conversation among them also started. And the family guy thanked her abundantly for my seat which she accepted with all smiles. I just wanted to ask not all but few woman out there: 1. Are you really this cheap always or you act according to the situation cheaply? 2. So much talk about gender equality and still afraid to sit next to man on a fully enclosed running bus?! I mean if anybody does any bad, you can always pick the slipper and whack them on their face. No one is gonna bite you.
