10th day of 21days of Purpose Fasting and Praying Every battle at the edge of my breakthroughs, scatter, in the name of Jesus. How to Receive What You Need from God One time at a conference, I had a group of children come up on the stage to demonstrate a point. I gave each of them a gift, and each child gladly took what I handed them without hesitation. Several of them excitedly thanked me and a few even told me they love me. These kids freely received my gifts. Not one of them said, “I don’t deserve this. I haven’t been good this week, and I can’t take it.” And none of them looked at me suspiciously, wondering why I gave them something. They just received it with joy! The same way these children received my gifts to them is the way God wants us to receive from Him – freely and with joy. John 16:24 AMP says, “…Ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.” If you’re struggling with life, chances are you haven’t freely received God’s gifts, such as His love, grace, mercy and forgiveness, so you can have the life Jesus died to give you. Getting vs. Receiving: We tend to have a mentality of getting things, not receiving them. To get means “to obtain by struggle and effort.” If everything in life is a struggle and effort, you won’t enjoy much of it and you’ll be frustrated a lot. If youre struggling with life, chances are you havent freely received Gods gifts… Getting things puts the burden on us because we have to figure out how to manipulate circumstances to make them work out the way we want them to. But the Bible talks about receiving, not getting. We receive by faith, not through works. This is difficult for most people because we’re taught in the world that we have to earn what we get. But God is not for sale. I used to have a religious attitude and believed that my good works made me deserving of God’s goodness. This actually kept me from receiving God’s blessings because I was trying to earn them. I was judgmental and critical of others, too, and would get frustrated when someone who didn’t seem deserving of it in my eyes was blessed. We all need to ask God for His love, forgiveness, mercy, grace… Just say, “God, please bless me. I receive Your blessings in my life, not because I’m good and have earned them, but because You are good!” Then your joy will be full. Only the just shall live by his faith .Habakkuk 2:4. Faith commits God. Wherever faith goes, God performs. Luke 1:45. Faith charts the path that the power of God follows. Luke.17:19; 18:42. Faith is intoxicating. You can’t believe and not show it in your speech and attitude. You can’t believe it and not behave it. Your faith determines your state. Intoxication is final evidence of faith . It moves one who believes to act. Mark 5:25-30 Faith puts you in charge of everything that charges against your faith in God. No door is shut against faith. It quenches all fiery darts. Do You Know What to Ask For? Mark 10:47-52 All of us know what its like to go round in circles. To pray our way through one financial disaster only to be met by another. To receive healing for one illness just in time to be knocked off our feet by the next. Oh, we try. We pray. We exercise our faith. But we keep getting caught in the same old problems over and over again. Why? Because all too often, we dont actually know what it is we need to be praying for. Now I want you to think about something for a moment. In the light of what the Scriptures tell us, how many needs did Bartimaeus have? Did he have just one? No! He wasnt simply a blind man, he was a beggar. He probably had more problems than you could shake a stick at, and all those problems would have seemed like legitimate needs to Bartimaeus. But it was sight he needed. If he could obtain his sight, all the rest would fall into line. He knew that. So, when Jesus said, Bartimaeus, what do you want Me to do for you? he knew exactly what to ask for and he got it... That I may see! Jesus is just as available to you today as He was to Bartimaeus. Hes just as willing to meet your need. The question is, do you really know what to ask for? Think about that. Pray about it. Let the Lord Jesus open your eyes and show you what you really need. If you do that, your prayers will take on a whole new power. Instead of hitting around at the edges of your problems, theyll go straight to the heart--and solve them. And you wont have to waste your life running in circles anymore. Men of faith are men of fame, because they get exceptional results. The world follows a man of faith. Faith depend on God for everything! Prayer points: Every battle at the edge of my breakthroughs, scatter, in the name of Jesus. Road of affliction, hear the word of the Lord, close, in the name of Jesus. I recover ten-fold, all my wasted years, in the name of Jesus. O God, arise and catapult me to a greater tomorrow, in the name of Jesus. Every well that I have lost, open, in the name of Jesus. Let the angels of fire handle any satanic contentions against my destiny, in the name of Jesus. Let terror strike the heart of the enemies of my destiny and cause their hearts to fail, in the name of Jesus
