10yrs ago today we opened the doors to Klub Soda...At the age of 30, I was given the opportunity to partner up and became an entrepreneur and co-owner of my own salon. Being only a few years out of school and knowing very little(if nothing) about owning my own business, I took a chance and jumped on board. Exciting and scary to say the least, this was a whole new chapter and role for me, but one i was willing to take a chance on and commit to, not knowing what the future would hold. Im glad I did, its been quite a learning/growing experience personally, work and business wise, in more ways then one. People always say to me it must be fun owning your own business and yes it is but it can also be very trying at times. No one said it would be easy and its not, theres been good days and bad, tears and laughter, staff changes, struggles, disagreements, economic worries, all in which are only normal and all of which we have worked our way through and will continue to do so. Its hard to believe, 10yrs later, in an economy as we know it today, and with so much competition, we are still going strong and continue to grow. I love what I do and will continue to challenge myself to be the best boss(although my staff knows how much I dislike that word), leader, business partner and entrepreneur I can be. To my business partner, partner in crime, sista from another mista, thank you for all you do but mostly for putting up with me lol, I dont say it very often, but I do appreciate you and all you do. We have our moments at times, but weve learnt to accept each others faults and learn from each other, thats what makes us work as a team. I couldnt do it without you nor would want to with anyone else but you! To my optimistic, hard working, talented staff, thank you for all that you do, for your endless drive and spirit and for rocking out all of that amazing hair. You guys rock! To my family and friends, especially my Dad, whos kindness and hard work has made me into who I am today. Thank you for all of your love and support. I love you all. Also, to an amazing landlord and accountant, whom are both godsends and appreciate all that you do for us. Last, but not least, to my amazing clients, old and new, thank you for your loyalty and continued patronage and support. Klub Soda or myself wouldnt be here without you. You are the reason I love what I do. I love and appreciate you all and look forward to making you look beautiful for years to come! Happy 10th Anniversary Klub Soda!(my baby!)
