The engineering crew began on the rebuild/fixing of the starboard main engine (c.1943 Cleveland V12 276A) and it might not be as disastrous as some believed. Staring on the deck of the main berth deck was Jordan Peterson, Comanche Youth Volunteer since2007; other volunteers through the weekend were Joe Peterson, Director of Operations; Comanche Youth Volunteers Nick Evans, lead seaman; Jason Rhodes, Jeremy Sandhu and Jessica Cruise. Paul Hill, former Comanche USCG crewman was aboard until noon on Saturday and visiting Comanche for the weekend was Steve Bonner, Director of the Historic Naval Ship and neighbor to Comanche the DD 951 Turner Joy and crew member and new volunteers to Comanche Paul, a photographer and Tim, from the US Navy Base next door.
