11-10-14: Detroit - Video via Ahmed Hamad: 67-year-old community activist Rasmea Odeh, survivor of Israeli rape and torture, denied the right to testify to her abuse in US federal court, railroaded on a bogus immigration charge, speaks to her supporters outside the Detroit court house just after being convicted. We will find justice ... we will face injustice, and we have to change this world, not just in this country, but in all the world. In all the places there is no justice, we have to bring justice, together. I dont like to be weak in this situation. Im strong. And I ask you -- all of you -- to be strong. I think, in spite of everything, we are the stronger people -- not the government, who has done injustice. We are strong. We are stronger. ... Maybe the government will ask to lock me in the prison. I dont mind. ... With my rights and your rights, we will be strong. Dont mind about that. And continue to support me, to support Palestine, to support justice ... We will continue, go back at 2 oclock, they ask to lock me [up], I dont mind. I dont want you to feel weak. We are strong. We will be stronger than that. Hours later, federal agents took her into custody -- after the prosecution asserted she was a flight risk from the United States, even as she battles to stay in the United States with the community that loves her. Her sentencing hearing is in March.
