11/11 Crime Report 11:15 AM Officers stopped to check on a disabled black cougar vehicle on Goodman road. Just prior to observing the vehicle Desoto County Sheriffs Department had broadcast a hit and run accident in which the driver fled towards our city, described as a black cougar. Upon approaching the driver, officers observed trash on both sides of the car consisting of sandwiches in plastic baggies, empty cigarette packaging, and empty aluminun cans. The vehicle had extensive damage to the front end and was leaking fluids onto the highway. The driver stated he threw the trash on the ground because he didnt want it anymore. He was served with a citation for littering by our agency and handed over the Desoto County Sheriffs deputies for their purposes. 1:13 PM An individual turned herself in a warrant for contempt of court. 3:12 PM An individual was taken into custody on a warrant for contempt of court after being stopped by Southaven PD for unrelated charges. 4:22 PM Officers responded to Donnies BP on a reported shoplifting. Taken was a carton of cigarettes. The subject, a white male, left in an older model gold Nissan Altima. 7:11 PM Officers were on Ridgewood when they observed very loud music coming from the Southbridge area. Investigating, they discovered a female dancing outside of a vehicle, with a driver sitting in the drivers seat. The driver was determined to be impaired and was taken into custody for DUI and violating the noise ordinance.
