11/16/14 (1941) One Single Job Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13 God made it pretty simple for you. He gave you one job to do - fear God and keep His commandments. Does that sound like two jobs? It isnt really because the two things go hand in hand. God is serious about your obedience to His commands. If you believe that, you will fear Him because He is serious about it. Now, heres the thing. In order to keep His commandments, you must know His commandments. There is no other way to know them than to study His Word. He has laid them all out in the Bible. They are there to know and understand. So, do your job - read His word and obey His commandments. Dear Father, give me a passion to read Your Word and help me to understand it so I can obey it Amen.
