11) By 1987, America was beggining to wake up to the synth-Industrial-esque sounds of Depeche Mode. After Vince Clarke left the group, Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andy Fletcher connected with Alan Wilder and changed the sound and dynamic of the group from its original course. This is another one where I could just list one great song after another from Just Cant Get Enough to People Are People that could dominate this list but I promised myself only one song per group. Strangelove is from the 1987 album Music for the Masses, which also featured the mega hits Never Let Me Down Again and Behind the Wheel (which was combined into an amazing mix with their version of Route 66). The group had a solid following but by the next full album Violater, they literally exploded into major stars. I know my bestie Nikki will say that Fly On the Windscreen is better, and I wont disagree lyrically or content wise there are better songs. I just know I want to dance every time Strangelove comes on. https://youtube/watch?v=JIrm0dHbCDU
