11-Year-Old Mexican Pianist Daniela Liebman Conquers New Yorks Carnegie Hall By Jorge Calvillo On Sunday, October 27, young Mexican pianist Daniela Liebman, barely eleven years old, received a standing ovation for her debut in New Yorks Carnegie Hall, where she participated in a concert offered by the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony. The young prodigy from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, offered a piano solo during the gala which took place in one of the most important halls in the United States and the world. Under the direction of David Bernard, Liebman demonstrated her great talent in interpreting Shostakovichs Piano Concerto No. 2, detailed Mexican newspaper Excélsior. In an interview with the newspaper, Daniela pointed out that performing in Carnegie Hall was a dream come true, something she worked towards with dedication for a long time, but that she never imagined she would experience at eleven years of age. Through her Twitter account, Mexicos Consul General in New York, Sandra Fuentes, acknowledged the young pianists talent, and shared pictures showing the pride of Mexico, a talented young pianist succeeding in one of the most important cities in the world. At her young age, Daniela has achieved other great successes like winning the National Piano Competition in Monterrey, Nuevo León, at seven years of age; and got the first place in Spains Noche de Madrid and the first place among young talent of the Russian Music International Piano Competition, reported newspaper La Opinión.
