12 weeks ago Terry and I sat at Haylees beside while we visited with our amazing friends Jod and Carrie. So many questions, so much uncertainty yet the room was filled with so much strength, hope and tons of love! Tonight 12 weeks later in a very similar hospital room we sat again at Haylees bedside while we drank our Tims and laughed about memories from the past. Each and everytime I have left that room a tear runs down my face, however tonight was different. Although Haylees health has taken a turn for the worst, you would never be able to tell by this families amazing strength and continued positive attitude! I sat there tonight and just like 12 weeks ago you could feel the strength, hope and love in that room. I looked at two parents who without question are not done fighting, both these amazing people that I get to call one of our closest friends are simply not done fighting! Looking at Haylee, even though her eyes are closed majority of the time she hears every word you say and will speak her opinion as she sees fit lol! When looking at her, her attitude is very simple...... Dont come in here with tears, dont feel sorry for me, instead fight for me as I too am not done fighting! I have said it before and Ill say it again..... You have never known strength until you have seen it in the eyes of a child! Jod, and Carrie you amaze me each and everyday! You say you are lucky to have us as friends...... We are the lucky ones to have not only you both in our lives but we have been blessed and are so grateful to have the privilege of being called Auntie and Uncle by both of your beautiful kids!
