120 seated plus at least another 40 standing at the meeting on Water Charges in Gortahork, West Donegal last night. Sinn Fein Cllr Sheamuis OFearraigh had the decency to turn up but got short change from the crowd when he explained he was not paying, that he would march in Letterkenny on Nov 1st but he would NOT call on people not to pay. People were really wondering why a Politician had to come all the way from Dublin to call for non-payment which everyone there agreed with but none of the local ones including Thomas Pringle were calling for non-payment at this stage. Another case of the people having to lead the leaders. My intro concentrated on the key numbers. The discussion was very wide ranging. Owen Curran who organised the meeting txt me this morning plus I got some FB messages to say it was a great meeting and people went off happy not to pay and well armed with information.
