12am...what are you doing??? At JOBO we are pulling calves, yes calves. I received a phone call at 10pm, calf coming with head back and very large, I called for more help at 11:00pm, unfortunately at 11:30pm the calf arrived but not breathing, after taking care of heifer (cow that had first calf) that had the calf, we then realized another 1st calf heifer was calving with a backwards calf, and delivered another calf at 11:50pm (bull calf). Now you would think that would mean we are done, but took another look in the calving area, and discovered another cow calving, this time calf was coming normal but VERY LARGE, at 12:08 a beautiful big heifer calf was born, for all the people that show cows, they would know the significance of a calf being born after 12:00am on this particular date. So now I can crawl into bed, after a quick shower, and enjoy what little sleep I may get, 4am will come early, who knows how many more calves are on their way.....
