13 Habits which only Russian people have. Under word “Russian” in this case, refers to those who live in Russia or in the former Soviet Union countries . Because our childhood then was all about the same, family traditions, customs, rules and signs - too. To see each other and yourself in these habits is very simple. Its not bad and not good, rather cute, warm and just feels like home))) 1. We dress up nicely before going to the store, grocery. We love to look good. Sweatpants with extended knees and stretched a green T-shirt - not an option for even the usual trip to the store . But pretty dress and heels - the perfect outfit for a casual walk . And thats just fine . 2. We sit down for a minute before going to airport. When the suitcases are already collected, everything is packed, and we are about to leave the house, we usually do pause and sit quietly, speechless for a moment before the trip. Many do not like this tradition, considering it a relic of paganism , but the minutes elementary gives the chance to remember if all the stuff are taken and nothing is forgotten.. 3. We Speak really long and complex toasts. Only the lazy Russian people say just toast To the health or something like that. Really. We are always ready to hear long anecdotes and suggestions. Because we have something to say. 4. We tell anecdotes and jokes as often as possible. We can tell the story in the middle of saying, Oh! Its like that joke ... , and be sure to tell the joke. After all, we love to laugh . 5. We congratulate each other after a shower or sauna Although the rules need to wish each other a couple of easy to baths, we say, Enjoy Your Bath ! Only after a bath or shower . 6. We answer honestly and deployed to the question How are you? How are you? Foreigners usually just say Well , thank you! . We are not.. If you ask Russian person how is he doing , you will get complete answer for that question. We don’t just say “I am fine thank you” We say everything what is going on in our life at the moment and what we are feeling. 7. We do not smile at strangers We do not smile at people we just met by chance eyes. At least, not at all 32 teeth. Smile we are sincere, for friends, family and loved ones . 8. We celebrate the New Year in a bigger way , than Christmas Christmas Tree – is the New Year Three. Gifts - for the New Year . New Year - the main winter holiday . Christmas is celebrated far fewer people and much more modest. It is more religious day for religious people to spent that night in church, rather then big celebration. And smell of mandarins is the first sign that New Year is coming! 9. We constantly review and quote the old Soviet films and cartoons We often and with great pleasure hum songs and recite phrases from Soviet films and cartoons , keeping the tone and voice of the characters, not at all feeling embarrassed of anyone around. Has anyone tried to cite foreign cartoons and movies? Besides Woody Woodpecker laugh and songs about Chip and Dale , I do not remember anything . And we have just so much sense in each movie or cartoon it will be enough till the end of life to rethink over and over. 10. We call all women girl If we want to call the waitress, we shout girl! When addressing to a 40- year-old woman, we call her girl . Any woman who could be called Woman for us - a girl . And everyone is happy. 11. We sit down at the table for dinner and sit for hours until midnight or longer, constantly talking. When we are going for dinner to someone, we sit down, have dinner and talk . Then we just talk , then still eat and talk , then drink tea and talk and even when leaving, we would stop at doorway and continue talking for another hour. We love to talk and eat. Especially salads with mayonnaise. 12. We never throw away plastic bags and packages. Seriously, probably in every house there is a plastic bag with plastic bags. And we do use them. 13. Never go for visit without a gift This can be a cake or wine for dinner, chocolates or flowers (just make sure that the flowers are not even number ) . In fact, no matter what, the main thing – is just to bring something with you. Because well, we just can not come to someone house with empty hands.
