13 MARCH THE REAL POWER OF THE BLOOD OF CHRIST! “Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more (certain is it that) we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God”. Romans 5:9 (AMP) The blood of Christ is a representative analogy of His substitution. It represents His violent sacrificial death which He took as you, in your stead and in your benefit. Just as it is the person of Christ that gives His work its inestimable worth, the efficacy of the blood of Christ is found in the value of the sacrifice Christ voluntarily offered in the stead of humanity. When the term ”BLOOD OF CHRIST” is used in the New Testament, it is used to signify that Christ in His sacrifice brought an end to the Old Covenant sacrificial system offered by the Levitical priesthood. To plead the blood of Christ carries a legal connotation. It means you are legally speaking forth what His sacrifice signifies in the same manner as you could plead your case in the court. The blood of Christ signifies that Jesus, your total substitute, took your death all the days of your life. Jesus Christ took upon himself your sin, the effects and consequences of those sins and by his stripes you were healed; complete and total healing is your inheritance. This is pleading the blood of Christ. In Paul’s epistles, the blood of Christ represents your justification. To ‘JUSTIFY’ does not just mean ‘to make one righteous’. It means the manifestation of the evidence of your righteousness. In the Old Testament, obedience had to be accompanied with blessing; that is what was known as justification. If a man was righteous, he had the right to be blessed. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21) and because of this irrefutable truth, you are equally justified. What this means is that the evidence of being righteous is that you have heaven’s best. In our text, Paul the apostle of grace is using rhetoric in order to establish a conclusion. He says now that we have been justified through the blood of Christ, we have been saved from wrath. God is not angry with us. Jesus Christ is the testimony of God; He is what God the Father believes about you and He is the evidence that the Father is not angry with you. The wrath of God was against sin and not against sinner; it was against that which hindered man to experience the life that He freely offered to him. Since the crucifixion of Christ on the cross, the blood of Christ bears record and testifies that you are no longer a sinner as a believer; you have now been made as righteous as God and have been qualified by the Son of God for the Father’s best. CONFESSION OF FAITH Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for the cross by which am made new, justified, healed, whole, righteous, prosperous and freed from the fear of death. Thank you for your wrath has been quenched and I have been placed in right relationship with you. I thank you for your perfect sacrifice. AMEN. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY To accurately plead the blood of Christ means to appropriate the legal provisions of his sacrificial death. CHRST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY BLESSED WITH ALL BLESSINGS…
