13 years ago, Howard University Alumn, F.Dion Davis strutted into the College Of Fine Arts Building at Howard University because he was directing a production of Little Of Horrors and choreographing a production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Germany and needed some Black girls to serve Street Urchin and Soul-Girl Realness.....one of my favorite teachers of all time, mentor and surrogate dad, Mike Malone told me I needed to go audition and well...I did. A few months...a plane ride to Stuttgart....a long ass drive to Schwabisch Hall....a couple of falls down the stairs photographed below...LOTS of Jesus Christ Superstar lyrics in German (which, to this day, I STILL dont know in English) and a shitload of Chi-Chi cocktails at the BuschlerKeller later, one of my besties to this day- Danielle Kamilah Thomas and I had one of the most amazing experiences of our entire lives......THANK YOU Herr Dion for giving us a chance....and for changing my life.....I pray you are resting in peace.
