13 years ago I did my very first professional interview for a written article (as opposed to radio) with a dutch band called Krezip in a nice hotel in Cologne. While we were laughing and giggling about Brad Pitt and our love for Ks Choice, their tour manager came in to tell us something horrible had happened, that a plane had crashed into the world Trade Centre. He had family in New York and was dead worried. All of a sudden everything turned serious. We turned on the TV, there were hugs, rumours of bomb explosions, then the second plane crashing into the other tower... all of that in a hotel full of Americans (and Dutch)(and me). Valeri picked me up afterwards and we drove through the eerily quiet city, usually busy during that time of day, and 1LIVE played Bridge Over Troubled Water - this is a usually youth pop radio station... What a sad day it was.
