13 years ago I felt the Lord calling me to leave my job and stay home to raise my children . We did not eat out, go on vacations,go to movies. My kids and I wore Walmart clothes. That may sound sad or hard for some but for us it meant my kids woke up to a parent everyday, played and used their imagination, read books together and had dinner at home everynight. They were rocked to sleep, prayed over and tucked in each night. Never once in the past 13 years have I regretted the choice we made for me to stay home. I dont consider the things we gave up to be sacrifices in any way. Not sure the president meant to discount stay at home moms. But honestly his comments dont effect me. My choice had nothing to do with finances, it was a choice I felt I needed to make for my kids. Parenting is hard. I think most moms struggle with the choice to work or stay home. Whatever you feel is best for your family is what you need to do. It certainly isnt anyone elses place to judge especially a disconnected leader. So working moms and stay at home moms keep looking forward and loving your families.
